The spiral symbol and why I feel so connected to it.

The spiral symbol, meaning and history, and my connection to it.

If you do a google search about the spiral symbol, you will find that is the oldest symbol known to be used in spiritual practices, reflects the universal pattern of growth and evolution. The spiral represents the goddess, the womb, fertility and life force energy.

Why I feel connected to it and I also use it as my brand logo, goes back to my childhood. We had visited Knossos palace when I was around 14 years old and we had a fantastic tour guide who told us all about this amazing civilization. Spiral symbol was used to all kind of ceramics objects  back them and also used to decorate the walls of the palace. Among others interpretations, Minoans used the spiral as an image of evolution and to express their will to reach infinity. I was hooked. No wonder I immediately felt connected to this symbol as I love evolution and growth.

The Spiral that combines the shape of a circle and its Dynamic motion, also symbolizes Time. It also symbolizes the rhythm of breathing and life itself. When used as a personal amulet, the Spiral helps our consciousness to accept the turns, changes and evolution of life.

Used at the passageways and halls at Final Palatial Knossos, the running spirals obviously enhanced the appropriate environment for the performance of ritual activities located in these areas.

There’s a reason the spiral is featured heavily in many cultures. It is an icon for expansive, cosmic wisdom, which our ancestors were highly connected to.

How I use it in my art.

I also like the design of this symbol and it is probable because it is widely meet in nature. I have read also that this motif is the rythme of life. It means the life order, the symbol of continuity, development, motion, and journey into the unknown.
